Barnaul Citizens Participated in Winter Universiade 2019 Flame
On December 8, the Winter Universiade 2019 Flame took place in Barnaul. The flame bearers started at the new embankment of the Ob River and ended the route in Sakharova square. The length of the route through the capital of the Altai Territory covered a total of 4,106 m.
Alexander Panzhinskiy, “Excellent Conditions are Expected for the Winter Universiade 2019”
Alexander Panzhinskiy, winner of the Cross-Country Skiing Russian Cup 1st stage in Sprint and 2014 Olympic Games silver medallist, gave a high score to the standard of the competitions and the level of Krasnoyarsk preparation for the Winter Universiade 2019. Despite the strong wind and cold, the experienced athlete came first in one of the most competitive stages of the Russian Cup in terms of the number of participants (133 athletes competed in the men's Sprint). In the interview, the winner talks about how to fight for victory whatever the weather and aim for success even in the most severe cold.
Olga Vokueva and Artem Nikolaev won Cross-Country Skiing Russian Cup 1st Stage Individual Races
On December 2, the seventh test event of the Winter Universiade 2019, Cross-Country Skiing Russian Cup 1st stage ended at Raduga Cluster (69L Eleny Stasovoy Street). On the last competition day the skiers competed for medals in the men's and women's individual races that were followed by the awarding ceremonies for the winners of this discipline.
Olga Tsareva and Alexander Panzhinsky became winners in sprint at Cross-Country Skiing Russian Cup 1st stage
On December 1, Raduga Cluster (69L Eleny Stasovoy St.) hosted the scheduled test event of the Winter Universiade2019, Cross-Country Skiing Russian Cup 1st stage. Frosty and windy weather marked the first day of competitions. The athletes competed for the medals in sprint held in classical technique with a separate start for women and men. At the end of the competitions the awarding ceremony took place. The entrance for spectators was free.
Universiade Flame leg held in Irkutsk
On December 1, the Universiade Flame leg was hosted in Irkutsk. The total length of the route in the capital of the Irkutsk Region covered a total of 3,600 m. The flame bearers started near Moscow Gate, a triumphal arch which was built to honor a decade after Alexander I accession to the throne, and finished in the square in front of Trud Sports Palace.
Cross-Country Skiing Russian Cup 1st stage Opening Ceremony took place in Krasnoyarsk
Today, November 30, Extreme Sports Center Sportex (6 Otdykha Island) hosted the Opening Ceremony of the Winter Universiade 2019 test event, Cross-Country Skiing Russian Cup 1st stage. As a part of the festive occasion, the parade of participating regions, followed by the officials’ welcome address, was held. The evening culminated in a concert programme.
Winter Universiade 2019 Flame carried through Vladivostok
On November 24, the 29th Winter Universiade 2019 Flame passed through Vladivostok.
