Krasnoyarsk residents saw Raduga Cluster in operation after the Winter Universiade 2019
Raduga Cluster welcomed journalists on a tour that threw some light on how one of the key venues of the Winter Universiade Krasnoyarsk 2019 is used after the Games.
Raduga Cluster (Eleny Stasovoy 69L) boasts a well-equipped climbing wall, court sports facilities, swimming pool, medical centre, and training grounds, which altogether allow for all-year-round operation required for Russian and world level competitions in various disciplines. Now it already serves as a base for sports schools of the city and territory, regional sports federations, and the Regional Athletic Centre of Adaptive Sports.
"The Winter Universiade Krasnoyarsk 2019 Legacy Programme is in full swing at this venue," Sergei Alekseev, Minister of Sport of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, pointed out. "The sports complex wasn't only intended for winter sports, but rather it was designed as a multifunctional sports complex. Today it houses clubs of summer and game sports, and the multifunctional sports hall is now being prepared for competitions. In a while, it will host a championship and Russian Cup in climbing. One of its jewels is the swimming pool. On June 1, the complex will open its doors to the citizens; the price lists are already available for each of the halls."
Sergei Alekseev also noted that soon there will be a public bus running to the complex, which will make the sports complex easily accessible.
For the record, Raduga Cluster was constructed from scratch especially for the Winter Universiade Krasnoyarsk 2019. In December 2018, it hosted the Russian Cup Stages in Cross-Country Skiing. During the Games, the courses of Raduga Cluster were used in cross-country skiing and ski orienteering competitions.
