“FOLLOW UP SIBERIA!” international cross-cultural digital project
The international digital programme "Follow Up Siberia" is a joint project of Norilsk Nickel and Euronews. At the heart of the programme is an international online contest in social media. Anyone around the globe can become a participant. To take part in the contest, a participant from any country, except Russia, will shoot a video or make a series of photos capturing “A Part of Siberia in my City” reflecting his/her ideas about Siberia. The content is to be posted with #FOLLOWUPSIBERIA hashtag in one or more social networks: Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Weibo. A contestant from Russia will shoot a video or make a series of photos on the topic "Siberia, my love", which will reflect the love to Siberia and knowledge of the sights of the region. The content with the same hashtag shall be posted in Facebook, YouTube, Instagram or VKontakte networks.
Posts in accounts must be accessible to the public. The contest is held from April 2018 to February 2019 and will consist of four stages. The contest is held from April 2018 to February 2019. Five of them will be selected from among the participants who will have scored the highest number of ratings of other users (‘likes’). Five others will be selected based on the decision of the competition Organizing Committee, which will assess the authenticity of work and the depth of content.
As a prize, the winners will have the opportunity to go on a tour to one of the cities of Siberia. The prize package includes payment for an international flight, accommodation in a hotel, meals, as well as a cultural programmeme. The best of each stage of the contest will arrive in Krasnoyarsk during the Universiade time.
