Thanks to our empathy towards athletes, we shared with them the joy of victory and the disappointment of defeat. And, most importantly, we experienced sincere admiration for the commitment from all those who contributed to this brightest winter sports festival of the year! Krasnoyarsk has set new standards for preparation and hospitality. The days that we spent here, in the heart of Siberia, will always remain in our memory! Allow me to thank one more time the leadership of Russia, Krasnoyarsk region, the city of Krasnoyarsk, the Directorate of the Universiade for the feelings of joy that you offered to the university sports world! I also thank my colleagues from FISU and the international winter sports federations. It is their efforts that have always made the Universiade one of the best international competitions in winter sports. I hope we will maintain this in future. Allow me to extend special thanks to a particular group of people without whom the Universiade would have not been possible. I am speaking of course of the volunteers. From early morning till night they were among us, with a constant smile on their face, always ready to help. The warmth of their hearts even melted snow on the streets of Krasnoyarsk. Let us give them a round of applause!'.
The corporate style was worked out specially for the 29th Winter Universiade Krasnoyarsk 2019. The logo of the Winter Universiade 2019, the official mascot of the competitions U-Laika, slogans “Real Winter”, “Welcome to Winter”, “100% Winter”, as well as the name “Winter Universiade Krasnoyarsk 2019” and names derived from it, the original graphics and color layout in decoration of the Games are the elements of the registered trade mark. The Directorate of the Winter Universiade 2019 only has the rights to use the said marks.
In accordance with the requirements of the International University Sports Federation (FISU), the logo of the Winter Universiade 2019 was made based on the Latin letter “U” – the first letter of the word “Universiade”, it includes the city name in English and the year the Games take place – Krasnoyarsk 2019, the sequence number and the name of the event in English – 29th Winter Universiade, as well as 5 stars in blue, yellow, black, green and red colors – elements of the FISU logo.
The “U” letter in the logo of the Winter Universiade Krasnoyarsk 2019 symbolizes the ice block, the irregular facets of which demonstrate the severe character of Siberian nature, peaks of rocks and snow-covered slopes.
"Real Winter" ("Настоящая зима") slogan is used as the main motto, revealing the essence of the Winter Universiade 2019 idea. It is not accidental that the first Winter Universiade in Russia will take place in 2019 in Krasnoyarsk, the geographical center of Siberia. Russia is the biggest country in the world in the area it occupies, with long and severe winters on the most part of its territory. It is in Siberia that it is possible to go in for all kinds of winter sports at this time, to feel it 100%. "Frost" and "winter" are not only foreigners sustainable associations with Russia but also special forces, images in the origins of Russian culture.
“100% Winter” ("100% зима") slogan is an additional one and it is used together with any of the slogans or independently as a chevron, stripe or patch on clothes.
"Welcome to Winter" ("Добро пожаловать в зиму!") slogan is an additional one and it is used in the Winter Universiade 2019 advertizing campaigns.
The color layout for the Winter Universiade 2019 look is based on combining austere, “cold” shades of blue and bright, “hot” purple. This symbolizes the combination of two sources – severe Siberian nature and warmth of human hearts. The pattern consists of 6 colors, each of which symbolizes a certain element. The symbols’ basic colors are white – the color of snow, purity; pink (fuchsia) – the color of friendliness and warmth; blue – the color of ice and cold, severe Siberian winter. Three more colors are used additionally in the said palette.
The original graphics of the Games look are based on the dynamics of numerous differently directed, parallel graphic lines, symbolizing sport as movement, striving forward as well as all dynamic elements of Siberian nature: strong wind, sliding on ice, rushing forward river. The linear raster’s structure and direction remind of snow tracks made by a Ratrac machine. Iridescent ice crystals gave the idea for creation of the pattern.
